THE FASHION SHOW 2024

The Fashion Show at Iowa State University began in 1982 as a simple runway show held in a MacKay Hall classroom, with the attendance of only a few Iowa State students. Over the past forty-two years, The Fashion Show has grown to be one of the largest student-run fashion shows in the nation, produced by over one hundred students selected to be members of the various committees. In addition to the student committees, The Fashion Show showcases approximately seventy student models who highlight the garments chosen by our guest judges.

This year’s guest judges are Lea Dochterman, Karina Corona, Emily Clark, and Colleen Pokorny. The judges selected the assortment of garments you will see in tonight’s show from over one hundred entries by students primarily in the apparel, merchandising, and design (AMD) program, as well as from students enrolled in related programs. Throughout the year, committee members and directors plan and execute various supporting events to create awareness and foster anticipation for the show.

The Fashion Show is held in Stephens Auditorium with an average attendance of more than two thousand in-person attendees and a live stream across the globe. The show has become a very anticipated and thrilling event for the Iowa State and Ames communities. With the continued success and growth of The Fashion Show and the AMD program in the College of Human Sciences, the annual event has represented student work while simultaneously recognizing the efforts of current professionals in the fashion industry. We are honored to feature a collection from Nordstrom.
